MCF Raebareli
(Modern Coach Factory)
The Modern Coach Factory (MCF) Raebareli, a crucial rail coach manufacturing unit of Indian Railways, is located at Lalganj near Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh. Inaugurated in 2012, it is one of the most advanced factories of its kind, equipped with state-of-the-art automation and machinery.
RCF Kapurthala
(Rail Coach Factory)
Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, is a significant coach manufacturing unit of the Indian Railways located in Punjab, established in 1986. It primarily manufactures various types of railway passenger coaches, including modern stainless steel LHB coaches and MEMU coaches. RCF has produced over 50% of the total coaches running on Indian Railways.
BLW Varanasi
(Banaras Locomotive Works, formerly DLW)
Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), formerly Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW), is a key production unit under Indian Railways located in Varanasi. It primarily manufactures electric locomotives and has transitioned from its original focus on diesel engines, also exporting to other countries. BLW is noted for its ongoing efforts towards sustainability and green energy initiatives.

It is primarily engaged in the manufacture of ammunition hardware like shells, fuzes, rockets, primers, and light metal floating bridges. Since 2021, its functions have been transferred to one of the seven new Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs).
Ordnance Factory, Muradnagar
Ordnance Factory Muradnagar, located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, is a major Indian defence production unit. It is primarily engaged in the manufacture of steel castings (both armoured and non-armoured) and forgings for military applications, including components for aerial bombs, track assemblies for T-90 tanks, and other general castings for tanks and artillery like the 155mm field gun. Since 2021, its functions have been transferred to Yantra India Limited (YIL), one of the seven new Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs).

Bharat Dynamics Ltd, located in Hyderabad, Telangana, is a major Indian Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU). It is primarily engaged in the manufacture and supply of guided missile systems and allied defence equipment for the Indian Armed Forces.
